When I was a kid I read the beloved coming of age novel by Judy Bloom “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret“. I loved this book for so many reasons. Though I don’t remember many of the details I do remember that many of the things the main character Margaret went through mirrored what was going on in my life as a young girl.
As Margaret navigated friendships, family and puberty she always kept a constant conversation with God going, crying out to him when life got sticky.
I’ve cried out to God sooo many times in my life; and no doubt I’m sure I’ll cry out many more times. And sometimes I’m tempted to feel like he is not there.
We’ve all been through some stuff, no matter our age or background. And we’re going to go through some more stuff no doubt. That’s life. Crying out is just part of the process.
And I believe he’s there. 🙂
